Frequently asked questions.

I’m new to yoga.
Which class should I start with?

Hatha and Stretch & Restore

How many people are
typically in class?

Our classes comply with CDC guidelines.

What should I bring
to class?

Water, a towel, a yoga mat and an open mind!

What can I do at home when
I’m not in class?

Make sure you allow yourself rest! We recommend a full 8 hours of sleep. Your body is a temple, and a yoga practice is better when the body is clean. Fill your body with wholesome nutrients and concentrate on hydration.

What can I do to help
focus better in class?

As you enter the studio, picture yourself depositing your thoughts, worries and tasks at the door, and breathe in deeply as you enter a meditative state.

Listen to your breath and focus on the present!

Do I have to ‘om’ in class?

The sound ‘om’ is considered the primordial sound of the universe, and is usually chanted before and after a practice to unite our physical and energetic bodies and prepare us for a moving meditation. That being said, our students are not required to ‘om’!  We respect your beliefs and how you feel in the moment. Listen to your heart and honor what it tells you.

What does Namaste mean?

Namaste is a traditional Indian greeting of equality. This is a way to tell someone passing by or in meeting that you honor them. In our Western culture, it is traditional to share this greeting at the end of your yoga practice to honor your fellow peers and teacher.
